EU Commission’s guidelines on interoperability for contact tracing apps

The European Commission’s eHealth Network adopted Interoperability Guidelines for Approved Contact Tracing Mobile Applications in the EU.

Guidelines provide that tracing apps must be voluntary, transparent, temporary, cybersecure, and use temporary and pseudonymised data. In addition, the Commission highlighted that apps should rely on bluetooth technology and approved by national health authorities, as well as be inter-operable across borders and across operating systems.
