The eHealth Network had adopted its Guidelines to the EU Member States and the European Commission on Interoperability Specifications for Cross-border Transmission Chains between Approved Apps, as well as the technical specifications of the same.
The Commission outlined that the Guidelines and the Technical Specifications aim to ensure a safe exchange of information between national contact tracing apps based on a decentralised architecture. In addition, the Commission highlighted that once the Technical Specifications are deployed, such national apps will work seamlessly when users travel to another EU country which also follows the decentralised approach.
